View the 2025 Momentum Grant recipients

The 2025 Momentum Grants are a joint initiative between the MIT Deshpande Center for Technological Innovation, the MIT Health and Life Sciences Collaborative (MIT HEALS), and the MIT Climate Project.

These grants support research and translation to accelerate promising technologies toward real-world impact. Each award provides up to $125,000 in funding for one year, along with dedicated mentorship from Deshpande Center Catalysts to help teams define plans for further technology development and commercialization milestones.

Applications are limited to MIT Principal Investigators (PIs).

Earlier this year, five Climate Project-Deshpande Center Momentum Grants were awarded.

Available Grant Tracks

The Momentum Grant program has two tracks:

Both tracks prioritize interdisciplinary collaboration and a clear path to impact and implementation. Proposals must be submitted by MIT PI’s.

Funding Timeline

Applications open on June 1, 2026 and are due on July 13, 2026. Principal Investigators advancing to the second stage of the selection process will be notified in September. Funding will begin January 1, 2027, and run through the calendar year.
